With the help of our supporters, we have now raised nearly £200,000 towards feeding the schoolchildren of Kasiisi. More importantly, this enabled us to buy a large plot of land and start developing a school farm. Helping the community achieve self-sufficiency is one of our most important goals, and with every pound we receive we move closer to the point where the children have a secure source of food in the future.

In April 2012, the Kasiisi Porridge Project received an individual gift-aided donation of £10,000. We wish to express our deepest thanks to this donor, whose truly exceptional generosity means that we can develop different aspects of the farm earlier than envisaged and go on providing porridge at the same time. This followed a recent single donation of £3000, also gift-aided, from another extremely kind donor, to whom the project is very grateful. These funds are already making a huge difference to the life of the Kasiisi Porridge Project.

A huge thank you to all of our generous helpers, buyers, donors and texters!
We have now built new kitchens at the two schools, several latrines and water tanks, and have fed some 1500 children a day since May 2009.
At the farm we have over 1000 chickens, representing the first step towards self-sufficiency. Sometimes they’re just irresistible . . .
