What the Kasiisi Porridge Project does:

The Kasiisi Porridge Project gives rural schoolchildren living near the Kibale National Park in western Uganda a meal every day. Many of them walk barefoot up to eight miles each way daily and stay at school till 6.00 pm. Three-quarters of them are too poor to bring lunch and many go without breakfast.

We have reached our target of £100,000 for the first phase of the feeding programme.  Next we need to raise funds to maintain the porridge provision while a farm is built which will sell produce in order to fund the future of the project. We are aiming for self-sufficiency within two years and it's likely to cost another £50,000.

Help us to keep this going until the project can be self-sustaining.

Message from our Patron, TV Chef Ainsley Harriott:

"Feeding a child costs less than you might think."

Less than £20 buys lunch for a child for a year. So why not fund a daily mug of porridge for one or more children? Your support can make all the difference to a child's life.
