Since its formation in 1992, St James’s Place Foundation has aimed to make a positive and lasting change to the lives of children and young people. Cherishing Children is still their largest focus area, and they have generously given the Kasiisi Porridge Project the sum of £2,500. These funds will be used to purchase a maize crusher for the farm, thereby reducing the cost of chicken feed sufficiently to make a significant difference to the amount that can be raised from our husbandry of chickens. We will post updates and photos when the machine has arrived and is in action. Meanwhile we are very excited by this grant and look forward to it helping our farm’s finances, and in turn the provision of porridge to the children in our project.
