Among other innovations being brought to our Farm, David is introducing permaculture in the form of permagardening. This is a technique that integrates water-saving methods, companion planting and organic soil fertility. The method is especially useful during the rainy season, when heavy rains can wash away nutrient-rich topsoil. Permagardening in Africa has been shown to increase vegetable production and overall food security, while using only local tools and ingredients. To date, David has completed no fewer than five permagardens at the farm.
